Indian Ocean Tsunami (疏散至1到2 公里)
It's easy to overestimate the power of tsunami (津波) in Indian Ocean.
According to the report, it's possible to make necessary retreat plan in advance to minimize the casualty.
The tsunami mostly affects 50-yard (about 50 meters) toward inland. With proper warnings, it's feasible to evaucuate. (about one mile or so.)

Empathy
The huge toll (now more than 15,000) resulted from the Dec. 26 big earthquake near Indonesia is so astounding. I hope people in Taiwan will show more empathy than indifference. (Overheard: where is the earthquake? Oh, in Indonesia.... not our business) an sad anetdote.

選後感言
１ 立委選舉投票率創新低，證明大家討厭的人多（希望落選的候選人比較算得出來，支持的候選人缺缺。）
２ 間接證明，今年的總統選舉的確 陳水扁總統的競選策略成功。因為真的票投給他的，不是因為他個人的，而是他代表的陣營。（或反對另一組的理念，形象）因 為他沒有拉抬這次立委的票數，（ok ,泛綠總得票數比上次立委選舉上升2%, 到44% versus pan-blue從50%到47%)
3 國外媒體比較著重統獨制憲。其實立委選舉，大部分的人還是選人,真正以席次作考量的較少。所以泛藍意外的過半 ,320後的府前抗爭沒有讓選票大幅流失 (ok, 對親民黨反感的，轉投國民黨），可以說讓國民黨心裡默念善哉善哉。
４ 陳水扁總統選前的一些為防止台聯把票吸走的動作（正名等），得反效果。間接擋了台聯，又沒拉到中間選民，或增加選民投票意願。
５ 放一下馬後炮，立委選舉，要著重在內政改革，bread-and-butter. 雖然如果泛綠過半，對總體的大改革有很大的影響。反正國民黨７５％黨產已變賣轉手，通不通政黨不當取得財產條例，大家也不是那麼關心。

配票,民主方式的自力救濟
明天是Parliament Election of Taiwan.
Yesterday's New York Times says 台聯會大幅成長,從現在的12席到17-20 seats.
如果有一群朋友去吃合菜, 每個人點自己愛吃的,而且過程還要保密(怪朋友),不用配的方式,會不會結果點出來的是一半是辣子雞丁呢?
其 實,配票的意義,就像在點菜. 我不但要吃這道菜,還要吃到其他好吃的菜 (如果選總統,還用配嗎? 如果是一個選區只選出一個立法委員 (在台灣最不名耀的公職)也不用配了).. Simply put, to maximize the impact of my vote. (or to get the most representives whose political stand I support elected)
所以,鼓吹配票和接受配票方式的人都是為了在"單一選區,二票制"尚未實施之前的自立救濟.
有點像Politics 101, 希望不會有點condescending(把讀者看得很沒有知識).

WKW 王家衛,王家衛,王家衛
In this article from the New York Times, 說侯孝賢的"千年曼波"(see picture)有受到王家衛的影響 ("花樣年華")。
什麼是好電影? 簡單的說,有新東西。 再更具體一點,就是別人要學你。 (當然,光這是不夠)
音樂在電影裡的比重地位,慢動作的使用,"加印偷格"(有油畫效果,雖WKW不是首創,但發揚光大)。更重要的,如果細心點有注意到電視演的韓劇,多彩多姿的色彩室內設計(stylistic),都是多少受到他的影響。更不用說,在電影中受他風格影響(如NYT文中），”Lost in Translation"（愛情，不用翻譯）and "Purple butterfly"紫蝴蝶。In my humble opinion, 前者是好片，後者則是雞肋。
在Lost in Translation中,男女主角在Chinatown散步,其場景像WKW的香港。
WKW拍的"春光乍現"(Happy Together)有一景是在和平東路及復興南路的捷運大轉彎,真是美極。

韓國導演洪尚秀
Hong Sang-soo 洪尚秀 的 "女人是男人的未來" (2004) 電影。
這是我第一次看他的作品。非常驚羨。
他有楊德昌的"簡單一二分鐘就把一個新角色(連名字都沒提),讓觀眾可以認同,活現在大銀幕)"
侯孝賢的對人的人道關懷(看到銀幕上的人,你會有同感,而不只是在看戲)
蔡明亮的都巿疏離違和感(最絕望的性愛場面,觀眾竟會和銀幕上的男女一樣同感空虛)。

Tip:
(Sort the list by "Last Played",) select a range of songs to be tallied,
press "Ctrl-Shift-N" and create a playlist,
name it, say "Foo",
the total time of this playlist will be summed up,
then this playlist can be removed if necessary.
